It's October.

It's October and I don't know how that happened, really.

I'll be brief with how the time has slipped away. . . Summer happened, and it lasted an extra long time. I made some friends, listened to a lot of Billie Holiday, read some books and forgot that I own sweaters. Later I spent some time in Central America, and realized more than a few things. Some of which are that the the good Lord did not put this fragile soul on the earth to travel to remote places and, jellyfish stings aren't the worst things in the world.
Autumn was waiting for me when I got home, and I think we're bff's. I had my first rain of the season, as well as my first hydroplane incident, but I was just happy to see the California coastline looking stormy again. And so, here we are in Charlie Brown season (the perfect trifecta), and I'm already planning out pie flavors for the holidays. At work we're swapping out stone fruits for sugar pumpkins, and I'm ok with that (for now. I think. I really like plums a lot though.) My big plans for the season include eating a lot of grilled cheeses with Max, sitting by the fireplace, and whiskey. I'm sure there are more plans, but it's the little things that I really get excited about. And I'm just really really happy it's fall. Like, a lot.
